The house you grew up in squeezes into your current home, bending walls, twinning rooms, tilting windows. Midway Avenue is a one-woman dance-story-map-tour of that doubled house. Canuso questions, constructs and transforms the outlines of her memories as she builds and takes apart her house. Stories and images of growing up in 1980s Philadelphia are inventoried and systematized within a constantly shifting landscape. With careful attention and playful abandon Canuso tackles questions about what we choose to embrace and what we try to erase.
